Our five minute film we be aimed at a very specific audience. Which is people around the age of 15 to 21 this is because our movie a thriller/drama and will have characters that the audience will be able to relate too. Our decision to aim our film at this specific audience came when doing research into genres, in that we asked our peers and most said they would prefer to see a scary film on a date or with their friends. Through this we were able to get a rough outline of who would be going to see our movie in the cinema. Younger people are more likely to watch are film because it is thrilling visually and has characters which the audience can relate too. This is because they will be the same age, will most likely be studying at university or college thus making the characters share a similar environment, which is the setting of our film. Scenes like the party/gathering in the movie will create a likely understanding with audience because they themselves will have been such events. Having first hand experience with the audience is important because we are able to fully understand their interests and hobbies. We have research what hobbies and interest 15-21 students usually do their spare time, and have tried to incorporate this into our storyline. Examples of such activities that we have placed in our storyline are college work, driving, texting, and going round to friends houses. These are all what stereotypical student might do, as such we have placed them in our narrative to create verisimilitude.
