One area of "Lights Out" that could have done differently and which would make our films better is the lack of representative actors. All our main actors were all white males, if this were a real thriller movie it would star people from all sorts of backgrounds in order to appeal to a larger audience and show we (Clarity Production) appreciate the importance of diversity. It would also be important to note that while casting this wasn't a concious decision, and we have simply chosen these actors because of their convenience. Something we could have done to prevent this problem is possibly leave leaflets round college or the city centre which advertise a chance for people to act our our film.
One thing I feel we have excelled in the film is attaining a wide range of shots. From over the shoulder shots, mid range, and hand held. Using a huge variety of shots is important for two reason when making a our film, one is that it achieves more marks upon evaluation, and two is that it helps us, as film makers see a whole new angle on the scene.
