AS and A2 film Comparison

Over the last two years studying media it is clear that I have improved greatly. This is evident through comparing our AS film to our new A2 film.

USB vs Lights Out

Starting with the technology which has changed, during AS we used the Panasonic HD camera which is primarily a hand held camera and later in A2 we used Sony 2000 which compared is a much serious piece of technology. We were allowed a lot more freedom with Panasonic camera because it could be taken anywhere unlike the Sony, but it isn't as good a quality and creates for a much poorer image.

The next comparable area of our film I would say has improved is our ability to plan ahead. During AS I feel I din't plan enough before filming and this left us open to many different problems for example not wearing the same clothes twice thus creating a continuity error and causing us to re-shoot. I feel I have learned from my mistakes i was able to plan ahead causing much less problems while filming and in turn making the process much more smoother.

Something that went better in AS tan in A2 is the storyline/ narrative of our film. This is because during A2 we are more aware of the deadline and this causes pressure, thus in turn making us chose an idea that may not be fully formed. In AS our films trailers narrative is more well rounded and less is left ambiguous like in Lights Out.
