I have researched into viral and one I have come across is one for a remake of Stephan King's Carrie. I have chosen to study this specific viral advert because the film in which it advertises shares a very similar genre too ours. Carrie is a thriller as such the advert has a a thrilling effect at least for the victims in the video. This video has similar element to the type of viral ad our film would have if indeed it was a real film. The advert has supernatural elements which make it ideal for a case study especially with our five minute film because ours explores the realms of the supernatural.
Having observed the advert it becomes clear that the ad plays on he public's vulnerability, in that it's set in a coffee shop, where people should be relaxed and enjoying their day. This is relevant because our 5 minute film is set in a college (public area) which makes the supernatural aspect all the more frightening because of its familiar environment.
In this picture we see people looking scared because their witnessing something shocking in a safe environment, this shock factor is something I a might apply if I made a viral advert for ours.
