Enduring Love has inspired our film more specifically in the case of the narrative. Enduring Love features a tragic event which brings random people together, in our film our protagonist disappears at a mentally unstable persons house thus bringing people together. The comparison between the mentally unstable character in Enduring Love is very easily seen in our film through the character of Stuart in Lights Out. They both follow people covertly, and in both ending scenes they in some sort of violence. Its is clear that we have tried to make our film fit the stalker genre as perfect as possible this, means examining films with dark storyline's this is why Enduring Love is a great inspiration for our film because it has dark narrative with mentally unstable people who have no grasp on good or bad.
We have used Se7en as an other inspiration because of its creepy music and visually shocking imagery. We wanted our stalker to resemble John Doe, in that we never seen his face till later on in the film, in ours we never get to properly get to see the antagonist "Stuart". We felt like this would humanise the stalker make people understand him, this wasn't our intention much like in Se7en.
